ubuntu 

版本比较：LTS vs RR

  1. LTS: Long-Term Support 长周期支持， 一般每 2 年更新，会更可靠与更稳定。可以获得 5-10 年的支持。适合生产使用。
  2. 常规更新：一般每半年更新，每个版本 只有 9 个月支持周期。 获得支持，需要付费。有最新的技术与最新的功能，适合测试，开发使用。会支持最新的硬件

版本介绍：

版本主要特点
Desktop只有必要的应用，如浏览器，图形界面
Server默认没有图形界面，着重在性能，复载。预安装 apach mysql php之类的
Flavours都是 Desktop 某个GUI独占，也有为图形工做，音频工做，教育方面用户设计的。
Cloud为云计算平台如 awz, azure, google云定制，有虚拟机和容器镜像功能，容易部署应用
Core极简版的 Ubuntu，设计为低功耗，像物联网，嵌入环境，边缘计算这类的场景

我的实践

准备：

我下载的是 ubuntu 24 desktop TLS  5.2GB   ubuntu 下载目录：https://ubuntu.com/download

OS 安装过程，略

安装 Vmware Tools

这个不像其它操作系统那样，点 Vmware 的 VM 会显示出 vmware-tools， 它没有。 我这个17 版本的在VM加电 install vmware tool 也是灰色。

只能用 apt-get 来安装开源版：

1. 更新安装包信息

2. 安装 build-essential

3. 安装 open-vm-tools

后来，我看下面这文章还写另外二种方法：提取，在download目录下有安装文件。 这两个我没看到。
